Product search - poor performance
I've been using CCP 5.1 for about 3 years, but noticed recently that the product search is particularly slow - about 12-18 seconds.
It uses MySQL on a dedicated host and performance is fine in every other respect. There are about 800 products on the database.
I copied the SQL generated by CCP when using the search function. I ran it directly within the MYSQLADMIN facility and it seems to perform pretty quickly.
I am wondering what else the search does that can slow down the results coming back so much. An earlier post talked about poorly formated HTML, but this does not seem to be a problem in my case.

Have answer this myself.
Search term logging was enabled - switched this off and it flies. Suspect this file has got to big or something. Will have to investigate further.

Could very well be that your log files need to be purged. Glad you found the problem.
