User Groups

I'm going to upgrade to CCP6 but I would like to know first...I see that you can assign a user to a group...but only one group...can this be changed to allow a user to be part of multiple groups?

I sell multiple products and each user can sell some but not all products.

Re: User Groups

This is really a feature request so you may want to post it in the  forum but I'm not sure what you mean by

Each category and product may be given permission for viewing to multiple groups which would seem to address your question (though from a buying perspective).

Re: User Groups

Sorry about the wrong place to post...what I meant by

I sell multiple products and each user can sell some but not all products.

I have a dealer who sells "GM and Chevrolet"
I have a dealer who sells "GM and Pontiac"
I have a dealer who sells "Pontiac and Chevrolet"
I have a dealer who sells "Chevrolet, GM and Pontiac"

I want to be able to make Produt Groups GM, Chevrolet and Pontiac and then assign Users to access these groups. The way I see it now is that I can only assign a User to one Group. To do this I would need to make over 100 groups!

Re: User Groups

Why not setup a login to the different areas?

Re: User Groups

After mulling over this for a day I can't see how you'll be able to accomplish what you desire with things the way they are now without creating multiple IDs for them and a bunch of product groupings.  Might be a good idea to go ahead and put your original request in the feature requests forum.
