I would like to offer customers a discount if they buy over a specific dollar total. I would like to be able to have a monthly sale to incent people. One month, I may say get 10% off if you buy $50 or more and then the next month maybe 15% off if you buy $100 or more.
I am familiar with the product volume discount, but I want to be able to stack it on total sales.
I could not find any posts that talked about this form of discount.
Thanks if anyone knows how!

That's handled as a "Custom Sale Method". Under Global Settings, you'll need to set the appropriate active custom sale method and also set the Use Custom Sale to "Yes". Then, under Orders & Payment, you can go to Manage Custom Sale Methods and enter the discount amount and dollar thresholds into the script. There is already a script for % off if over a dollar amount, so it shouldn't take much to set up.

Here I am looking to have to write all this custom code and it already existed. Looking at life through a mailing tube I am!
Thanks for helping me to zoom out!

Do you guys no of any way to attach this to a coupon code? As in "get 10% off your order over $50 by using X discount code"?
Thanks,
Jess

I don't think this can be done with a discount code. Sorry.
