Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

Add that to your ENDOFTEXT blocks (where you can print HTML) right around the $display_text variables.

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

Also Nick, is it possible to show the "Local Delivery" option when the customers delivery address is in a few certain towns or zip codes in one state?

That way, they would only be able to see the "Local Delivery" option if they are actually IN the local delivery area?

Thanks again,
Dave

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

Another question...lol sorry Nick,

Is it possible to add a handling charge to ONE shipper, but not the others?

Example:

I offer both UPS and USPS shipping options.
I want to include a $2.00 handling charge to the USPS option, (because that requires a special trip to the post office, standing in line, etc.) but I do NOT want to add the $2.00 handling charge to UPS or local delivery option.

How would I do this?

-SIDE NOTE-

The reason why shipping is such a pain for me, is because my items are weighty.
I have done a survey and find that shipping costs are the reason for abandoned carts a whopping 80% of the time on my site. I need to keep the shipping as low as possible, without losing money myself.

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

I think it's time to submit a quote request with exactly what you need and I'll get it over to ATS to bid.  This is becoming more than should be handled on the forum.

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

oh. I already have close to $1000. invested in this... nevermind I guess.

I really appreciate the help I get here, but "get a quote" is all to often the answer.

I didn't realize that this would be so complex and difficult to do.

Thanks anyway Nick.

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

It's just a bit complex to do for free on the forum.  Each time a solution is posted a change request is made.  I think it would be better to get all the ideas down in one place and have someone write it and test it in one shot.

I need to implement this mod for realtime shipping, quick! I've never added mods before, so I need some help finding out where to make the change! Can I please get (or be directed to) step-by-step how-tos for this stuff?

THANKS!

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

Read the second post in this thread.  It's got the location and code mod.

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

Has anyone noticed a considerable checkout page load slow down using this mod?  My shipping page seems to be painfully slow to load, and I believe it may be the call to 3 different shippers to return rates on the shipping page, as this is the only page were the delay occurs for me.  Any advice or ideas on how I can speed this up, I have already converted to sql.

Re: More Then One Shipping Option To Customer

If you're pulling realtime rates from three shippers, I would think that would slow things down since it has to wait for three seperate responses from the shippers' servers before it can process the data and display the choices.
