Slow Speed

I have a product database of just under 2000 lines on wwwabermusic.com, but each page takes an age to open.  I imagine that Clickcart is designed to take product databases of tens of thousands of lines...  What should I be doing differently?!

Re: Slow Speed

If you're running your product table in csv mode with 2000 products, then it may be slow. If you edited it outside of CCP and there's any duplicate product_id's then it may be REALLY slow.

The biggest increase in performance can usually be gained by running most or all of your tables in RDBMS (e.g. MySQL) mode...

Good luck,

Dave

Re: Slow Speed

You may also want to take a look at your HTML.  There are two <head></head> elements which probably isn't helping.  I'm seeing a javascript error as well.

Re: Slow Speed

You might want to run a  to see if there is any general slowness with your site.
It tests performance every 15 minutes for 8 hours and sends you a report.
They only use your email address to send you the report.

Tests run during a weekday are the most useful (peak traffic), but there's no harm in doing both.

Re: Slow Speed

Thanks for the advice - helped a lot.  I've cut my product lines and edited my front page - I'd pasted several copies of several lines.
