Uk Version - Qb Settings

There is a field in the 'Manage Quickbooks settings' called:

"Account Name - Bank Account (Bank) - NOT UK *"

Does anyone know what the 'Not UK' bit refers to or what it means ?

I am using the QB modification in the below thread.

I have to say that this can really save alot of QB cutting/pasting from ccp.

The reason I am asking the above question is that I am having a problem with the enhanced QB download in that it does not indicate which payment method has been used in each transaction. I am wondering if the above field may have a bearing on it.

IS THERE ANYONE IN THE UK USING THE QB Enhanced Download ????

Re: Uk Version - Qb Settings

Hi Peter,

The UK export does differ from the US export for quickbooks due to differences in the UK versions of QB. In the UK version the information is imported to QB as a Sales Receipt not an invoice. This means that "Account Name - Bank Account (Bank) - NOT UK *" is not need.

Re: Uk Version - Qb Settings

Is there a way that the UK version can be set to have more useful behaviour?

I have just tried the import, and as you say everything is imported as Cash Sales.

What we expected was that :
a] a new customer would be created
b] an invoice would be raised with the CCP order number as the reference
c] each matching item would be used in the invoice so stock control is maintained etc.
d] the vat would be updated accordingly
e] the payment would be assigned against the invoice

thanks

Hi

From our testing and the information from QB UK version does not allow you to create a new customer account from an import file.

If you no different, then please email me and I will help with improving the QB ClickCartPro export.

Re: Uk Version - Qb Settings

There is a thread on the forum that has the code for a more comprehensive export that:

1. creates an invoice
2. creates the customer
3. creates the payment
4. creates a state tax entry (which could probably be amended to handle VAT)
5. If you use the exact same product referencing in QB as CCP it will deduct your QB inventary

I have modified it a little to remove the state tax entry (which is just commenting out one line). I have one outstanding problem which is a QB problem. The date on the CCP download is in UK format (as you would expect), but it is being interpreted as a US date by QB.

I am also using the sales representative (REP) field in QB as an invoice status. I set up four sales reps (New, Shipped, Part Shipped, Complete). I have modified the QB download so that all imported transactions are set to 'New'.

Finally, I have created a new QB report that displays all invoices by Sales Rep. Which means that I can see on one QB screen a summary of all my transactions grouped by status.

If anyone is interested in this,  I could put more detail up when I am finished?
