Any Way To Mask Search Terms

Hello,

I have a product that keeps showing up when a certain word is entered into the search box on my store. The word is not a keyword, but is a key part of the description of the item. I don't necessarily want this product to come up in a search when the word is typed into the search box. Is there any way that words can be "masked" from the search function?

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Any Way To Mask Search Terms

I think I remember seeing a thread here about this and the suggested solution was to do a mod to the code to have search *only* look at the keywords, not the descriptions, then you could have better control over what you put in there without affecting anything that is visible to the shopper. Of course, you would need to make sure that your keywords contained anything you might want them to search on.

If this makes sense for you, search the forum and/or reply to this and I will try to find the thread that had the specifics of the code needed to do it. I think it was a simple mod.

HTH,

Dave
