After filling out the Billing/Shipping information and selecting the payment method, when clicking on the submit button, the next page that comes up is only have there. It brings in the upper part of the template, but ends and looks corrupt. Could anyone please give me any insight as what might be wrong?
This has been working for the past year, but all of a sudden it started doing this yesterday.
Nobody can order anything until this is fixed. Please help.
The page is at
Thank you.

It could either be a server issue (time load) or one of your ste_chkout_ element files are corrupt. I'd first re-upload these files first to see if it's a simple file corruption problem and try again. If the problem persist, please post back.

Thanks for replying.
Tried what you suggested and re-uploaded all of the original ste_chkout_ element files but the same problem occurs.
What do you mean by server issue (time load)? Before posting here, I contacted our server and asked them if we have enough memory allocated to the site and they said yes. (they won't tell me how much we have). But I did tell them we need at least 20meg.

The time-load could be many things beside disk spacing. Could be related to CPU usage, RAM usage etc . . .
I have just remembered, from another thread, that this problem could also be related to Sendmail. Make sure the file is properly uploaded. If it is already uploaded correctly already, call your ISP for sendmail issues. Their server file might be altered.
Now, the proper question to ask would be : Do you still receive confirmation e-mails after this incomplete last step page or you do not have any e-mails at all ?

Ok, just noticed another issue which is probably related in some fashion.
When viewing the online orders through the admin, after clicking update on one that I was testing earlier it too stops halfway down the page. It gets all the way to Card Start date and then has
Not Applicable <INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME
And then it stops
Definately something funky going on here. I will check the sendmail thing next that you suggested.

It sounds like your server made a backup of their system lately and could of had encountered problems during the process. If you're saying that you never had this type of problem until today on this subject, I'd ask some questions to my hosting company about this.
As for the INPUT TYPE line, could you specify the ' exact ' page you clicked on in the orders & payments page ? Is it the orders & invoices (first link) ? If so, I could tell you the source file which you may need to restore.

In Manage Online Orders, then when I click on Update is where the INPUT TYPE problem line is (remember this is version 5.0).
We also have the same problem when viewing the Printable Online Order invoice.

Step 1 :
- Download all your CSV files.
- Download all your element files.
- Download all your library/modules files
to a temp folder on your computer.
Step 2 :
- Re-upload all your downloaded CSV files in binary mode and then set CHMOD to 777.
- Re-upload all your downloaded element files in ASCII mode and set CHMOD to 777.
- Re-upload all your downloaded library/modules files in ASCII mode and set CHMOD to 755.
It looks to me like you're having an issue with your tracking.csv and trackitem.csv file but also having a problem with adm_iud.pl file.
After applying these steps, tell me if the problem still persists.

We are going to try and have the server revert back a couple of days and see if that works. We won't know until tomorrow if that works or not. If it doesn't. I've already downloaded all the files so will be ready for that step if it comes to it.
Thanks for your help!!

I agree with Nav on this. It sounds like something got screwed up during some sort of server upgrade or something. Most of the time when a store is working just fine for quite some time and then suddenly just stops working.... it goes back to a server screw up. The problem is that usually the hosting company is not going to admit to making changes (because it can make them responsible.... and they hate taking responsibility) or they will tell you they made some upgrades and don't support any specific CGI software. So either way... the client is usually the one that has to end up dealing with the issue and correcting it.

Totally true. This topic should be put as a sticky thread for future reference regarding restoration of a hosting system toward their customers.

Well, tried the revert back a couple of days and that didn't work. We are still encountering the same problems. Also tried the step you mentioned earlier and re-uploaded all of the files but again that still didn't work. Checked the sendmail and it's pointing to the right place.
I'm in desperate need of how to figure this out. My next step is to upgrade to 5.1 (which we already purchased anyway but the client was happy with the way things are/were) to see if that helps any.
Any other suggestions?
It's weird though that the pages are just stopping half way, sure sounds like some sort of memory issue to me. But the server insists we have enough.

oh, one more question. If we do the upgrade and import the old data, do you think it will import the errors that we are getting as well?

I'm having some thoughts about this myself . . . your hosting service says the memory usage is good ? How about the CPU usage ? This could also be a problem.
Of course, they won't admit that either.

Thought i'd try another thing, for the printable online order invoice (through the admin), i tried modifying the adm_track_invdisp.txt file. After stripping out many of the font tags I can now see more of the page. So I tried taking out more of them and again, each time I take out code that isn't absolutely needed it will show me more of the invoice.
Any thoughts on this?

I just had an idea. How about posting adm_track_invdisp.txt file's content to see what might be missing ?
This way, the problem would be more easy to define and how bad it would be.

AHA, you were right!
We finally were able to get out of the Hosting provider that they had been trying to contact our company with saying that they were going to add a proc limit due to this site causing server reliability issues.
This email somehow got lost getting to us and we were never advised so they just went ahead and did it.
Ironically, they did this the same time the site started recieving the errors.
They suggested we go on a dedicated server or remove some of the script. Since the latter ain't gonna happen *LOL*, I guess we go to a dedicated server.
Got any suggestions about dedicated servers? (figured I'd ask just to keep this thread going since it's so much fun)

You can always visit Powweb's web site. They offer very good dealership accounts toward their users and good pricings with instant forum support.

They are very low cost and pretty reliable. I would go with one that uses Ensim Pro to interace with.
Hope this helps in getting your site back online.

Thanks for the suggestions. However they want to keep with the same hosting provider. So we are in the middle of switching it over from the shared hosting to a dedicated. Let's hope this solves all the problems. *crosses fingers*
Thanks for everyone's help in this.
