Re: Customer Orders

This definitely sounds like a DBI issue.  Unfortunately, the host controls DBI.

Re: Customer Orders

I'm actually waiting for his response regarding the tracking display. However, I do think that this could be a CPAN::MD5 issue since most servers doesn't have this listed.

Re: Customer Orders

Forget about MD5 - it's a red herring.  CCP has MD5 installed in it already.  There are no known issues with MD5.

Heres the whole conversation. did I ask Wrong???

Category: Applications Not Responding
Problem Description: 5/17/04 3:04:07 PM
I have a shopping cart which for some reason no longer allows me to see my products, on-line orders, etc from the "ADMIN PANEL". The orders are coming through fine, and I can see my products on line, its just trying to view them from my panel isnt working now for a few weeks. My technicians say it looks as if a DBI module may have been reset "I wouldn't be suprised if the host did something to the Perl DBI module. The calls to DBI in admin are different from the frontent as it uses hashes instead of arrays.

Speak with your host about a possible DBI Perl module upgrade (that they did recently) and ask them to re-install that module. I think that's the source of the issue." END QUOTE

Could you look into this for us? Thanks in Advance
John Timms

Re: Customer Orders

Since your server has responded to your support ticket, I'd wait a day or two until they respond officialy. Then, if you still haven't got an answer from your actual service, I'd change hosting service. wink

Re: Customer Orders

jjt123-

Scoutch has been banned from this forum - I'll be glad to help, though.  Do a search on the forum for 'PurePerl' and 'Pure Perl'.  These should return references to similar problems which were corrected by editing a couple of lines in initialize.pl to force the use of the PurePerl version of DBI shipped with CCP.

Re: Customer Orders

If I look at products in the admin panel I get this:
"Currently displaying items 1 to 0 of 12"

Which shows "nothing"

I get the same if I look at the orders. Or anything , catagories etc.

So basically I can not "see" anything

I do have a back up from a few months ago. Which file should I try restoring?

Re: Customer Orders

Are there any errors or warnings in your server log file?

Try restoring ./cgi-bin/library/modules/adm_iud.pl.

Re: Customer Orders

I replaced the complete data folder and this restored "readability" to every sector. Unfortunately it was and old folder and consequently I have to go in and correct some/ alot of stuff. However: the lesson is obvious that it wasn't a web hosting issue. Any thoughts? ;-)

Re: Customer Orders

It sounds like a hack to that file that you may have done had adverse effects.

Re: Customer Orders

IN THE HOPES OF NOT SOUNDING TOO "STUPID", WHAT DO YO MEAN BY " IT MAY HAVE BEEN A "HACK" TO THE FILE THAT I MAY HAVE DONE? ANSWER ONLY IF YOU HAVE TIME.

THANK YOU
JJT smile

IF "HACK" MEANS A PURPOSEFUL CHANGE TO THE FILE THEN I UNDERSTAND.

Re: Customer Orders

That's exactly what I meant.  Maybe 'custom modification' would have been a bit more accurate.
