I went to view print on line orders (Manage on line orders} today. Not a record of anything, and two were actually processed today. What changed??

John

Ya know what? Whever I go theres nothing there! Products, relationships, etc. Like there isnt even a shopping cart any more. But my site is up and the component items are there for sale still. Any clues...............?

Re: Customer Orders

It looks to me like you haven't set your CSV files to full writing permissions. Are you sure that your data, elements and tables folder are set to CHMOD 777 ?

Re: Customer Orders

Well I havent changed anything in 6mos. I got anothed order today but only received the credit card company part. Thats happened before so hopefully, no big deal, However , I'm amazed that my cart looks ok on line but the when I log on to see what orders there are, there's nothing there! And I don't see my products either. I suppose as long as I get email receipts for the orders I'll be OK. This nonsense always happens around the times of the year that I actually need the Cart! Ha Ha. I dont want risk losing anything now> Mothers day is what helps pay for this thing  smile

Re: Customer Orders

6 months ? This looks to me like a global settings entry (which you 'might' have chosed to keep your orders for 6 months). Is it the case ?

Re: Customer Orders

Well what I meant was, there have been orders coming in all along( in the last 6mos) and there has always been a history of those orders. I havent changed any "setting" in a while. I just ran a test sale. It went through Fine. I got a receipt from both the Credit Card Co. and the Cart. But when I went to see "view printable order" there was no history of that sale. Also the cart didnt recognize my Order #. Under check Status. Also it seems strang that uder "products" I dont see any. But their on the site. Wierd

A good thing you mentionned this. Now, 2 steps.

Step 1 : Check your trackitem.csv file if you have any readings in it inside /data/tables.

Step 2 : Check the file structure integrity of your product.csv file (same folder location).

Keep me posted on this.

Re: Customer Orders

I'd check permissions on the entire ./data directory and everything in it - making sure everything is set to chmod 777.  The host probably made a change or restored a backup which is causing an issue.

Re: Customer Orders

Well you know Im not a programmer, so some of that sounded a little Greek.
However, using leapftp, I should be looking at which file? The data file? And by the way I just ran another "Test" sale and it came through fine. So that means Im not changing a thing till after Sunday (Mothers Day). I fear Ill knock my cart off the "AIR". Thats a scary thought. I will (I Promise) get rid of this HOST after this week. Every Holiday, without fail, for two years running, these "EV1.net" people do some wierd unexplainable "Thing". And when I try to talk to them it's "HUH?"
It's amazing that this level off incompetance survives in a "Free" market. So, I'll wait. I wouldn't mind, while I'm waiting, an explanation for the fact that the products are viewable on the site (Thank God) but when I access the cart through the admin function..........there's no products, catagories, etc???? It just seems so impossible to me. Thanks in Advance

Right-click on your data folder and click on : CHMOD in LeapFTP (I'm also using this FTP, it rules). Then, type : 777, then ok.

Then, make sure the 777 has been set recursively inside your data folder.

I have used and licensed several ftp clients.

CuteFTP Pro
SmartFTP
FTP Voyager
FileZilla
and others...

Whats funny is that I keep finding myself going back to a completely free piece of software.

there's more than one way to...

ok ........I used the ftp program, right clicked the different folders, checked each folders properties and they all showed "777" except ggi-bin folder. It shows 775.
Could this be the problem?

John

PS I went to each folder and changed each the permissions of each file. Ill be back wink

Everthing still looks the same. No info, including email list, names Gone!
Test sale Ran Fine though. How about the _vti folder (inside data folder?) 777?

That is actually the right way.

How about the _vti folder (inside data folder?) 777?

Now that you have mentionned it, the _vti_cnf folders could definitely affect CCP's files since it, most of the time, recompiles these files from Microsoft FrontPage or FrontPage extensions.

This is a : * Do not use * with CCP.

Re: Customer Orders

Makes sense to me, Ill remove it, not a problem. However, again, there has been no front page uploading/downloading of any files lately (at least six month). So I wonder how "out -of - the - blue" my order and product and catagory information goes "puff!" GONE.

Anywho, Im taking the _vti file out now. Thank You. We'll see what that does.

It is possible that your server gives you this possibility in your membership. This option is usually given from your web panel.

Re: Customer Orders

Yes they do that. However front page extensions are off,......I think . I'll check.

Well I got rid of those _vti folders. I have to say my heart stopped as I watched file after file after file after file being deleted. Those _vti folders were in every ccp5 folder. I was releived, to say the least, when I saw the cart was still up and running. I tried a test sale again. It went fine, I got all the required email confirmations etc.

I entered the ccp5 admin function to see now if the products, catogories. etc were there. NOPE! Weird. But ya know what, that cart knows how many catagories there should be. Same with the products. It know the correct amount that should be there. The page says "Currently displaying items 1 to 0 of 12. Click below to navigate through the entire listing". Ya see. There are 12 products. It just isn't showing them..YET. Im gonna have another look at those permissions you were talking about.

JJT

PS the cart did not register the test Sale under "manage on-lin-orders"

Make sure that /data/tables/category.csv and product.csv file are uploaded in binary mode and set to CHMOD 777.

PS the cart did not register the test Sale under "manage on-lin-orders"

You would need to check if tracking.csv file is also uploaded in binary mode and set to CHMOD 777.

Re: Customer Orders

Great. But check this out........I was looking at the trackitem.csv.(on the internet) It shows the orders. Aint that something? So they are there. Im just not seeing them from the admin end.
Regarding uploading, I havent uploaded anthing. Im trying to view the "cart on the site" That to me is the key to finding out what happened. Im sure if I upload an existing ccp5 folder I have on my computer it'll fix the problem. But.......I'll never Know what "was" the problem. Like I said, I got rid of those _vti things, and Ive changed permissions on most folder/files. What about the cgi-bin folder? Is that 777 also?

JJT

Tracking.csv is set to 777 and all the orders are there, including the ones I test sold  smile

So why arent I seeing them when I log on the admin function??

It has to be stricly set to CHMOD 755.

Tracking.csv is set to 777 and all the orders are there, including the ones I test sold

And you're absolutely sure it is uploaded in binary mode ?

Re: Customer Orders

OK, maybe Im not really hearing what you are saying. Uploading? To me, that refers to "making changes to my files" (OFF LINE) and then when Im ready I "UPLOAD" them. Are you refering to the same thing I am??

When I Look under "manage on line order" heres what Im seeing

"Currently displaying items 1 to 0 of 45. Click below to navigate through the entire listing"

But there is no listing. But somewhere there are 45 records "hiding". If I use my ftp program I can acess the appropriate file and "see" these  orders. any Ideas?

Which FTP software are you using exacly ? WS_FTP ? If so, that might explain some things actually.

I'd recommend to use : LeapFTP from : wwwleapware.com/download.html link. It is an excellent and simple FTP Client Software.
