Mail path on Win 2000

I can't seem to get the mail to work. I tried
1) Server Name / IP address
2) Server Name
3) IP Address
4) IP Address / Server Name

Of these combinations nothing worked. I have a feeling it's something with the server. Where do we go?

Thanks

Usually 'localhost' works.  If not, check with your host - they may use a server other than yours.  Just ask them what the name is for the SMTP server they use and plug it in there.

Re: Mail path on Win 2000

Hello,
I'm using the same people I have my internet account with. The only mail program that is having a problem is with CCP5. I use the SMTP name which is mail.nationi.net and the IP address which is 207.15.77.133. I also have CCP4 set up on this same server (my wifes website) and it's mail works. Something in CCP5 seems to be bugged.
Where to now?
Thanks

Re: Mail path on Win 2000

As long as:

(1) Your web server has the permission to use that SMTP server
(2) You're using valid email addresses for to/from

It will work.  First check to be sure your customer email address is valid and the order email addresses are valid in Global Settings | Manage Store Settings.  Also, in the same function, make sure at least one of the order email addresses is turned on.

If everything looks ok there, make sure by contacting your host that your webserver does indeed have permission to use that SMTP server for sending mail.

It has to be a problem at the web server. There's only one guy down there that knows what he's doing. He'll be around on Monday and I'll talk to him.
