Exchange of information...
Hello-
I am looking for information on how to start a 'legitamate' small business. What steps do I need to take, starting at the beginning? I know this is not as simple as 'step 1', etc, but I would really like to make a start other than having a web-site that sells stuff. I would like my customers to know that I am 'for real' so to speak. In return I can offer information that may help reduce some costs for other small businesses.

The first thing I'd do is get a good accountant. Have them hook you up with a lawyer so you can file the right paperwork with the feds and your state. Get your books set up and you should be off and running.
