Customer complaint about your site

I am trying to find ways to improve the customer experience and would love to hear from other Kryptronic users.

1. Customers complain why they have to input their email address twice, (I know the reason; however, they dont on other sites)
2. For UK customers, the "County" is no longer required by any couriers. Yet that's another step they have to click through.
3. My payment never went through, and I have tried multiple cards.  (Not sure on this one but it is high with us as far as customers complaining.)

If anyone else can add to these, please do, as we all want the same thing: a truly great customer experience.

Re: Customer complaint about your site

Thanks for posting this.  These are some good/common gripes.  It's funny how it's somebody else's problem when a card doesn't go through.  Usually the wrong billing address with AVS on.  Anyway, I'd like to see what others say and we'll get some new features in the software as a result.

Re: Customer complaint about your site

I have thought the checkout process was a bit dated for awhile so I have ripped it apart to make it quicker and less prone to user error. Absolutely no disrespect aimed at nick or the software as the checkout process functions great, which is the most important factor. Revamped site hasn’t gone live yet, so don’t know if it will help sales.

I’ve added social logins - Facebook, google and apple as well as one time links via email.
Reduced the number of steps from cart to payment by changing the login process.
Added option to create account during guest checkout, so removed guest/create account options and combined it in one.
Added improved postcode search whilst removing country, state prov, etc
Currently adding w3w info to all orders. W3w is grabbed during postcode search. Our couriers are using w3w a lot now.
Added google map from postcode search.
Added Apple Pay and google pay.
Probably loads more I’ve forgotten about!

WOW, that does look very modern and more in line with other e-commerce checkouts; I like it.

Re: Customer complaint about your site

I’m curious of how to add Apple Pay and Google Pay capabilities to our websites. People hate manually entering or trying to autofill credit cards into websites and this is why it’s so easy for customers to return to sites that have easy digital checkout as an option.

Using Kryptronic K9!  - v 9.4
Previous Versions:
ClickCartPro 8
ClickCartPro 7
ClickCartPro 6
ClickCartPro 5.1

Re: Customer complaint about your site

I relaunched with Apple/Google pay around 2 weeks ago. Apple pay accounts for around 30% of payments now. Not sure about Google Pay as our payment provider just lists those payments as visa/mastercard/amex. I will update the gateway in a few weeks so I can add the payment type to the orders table for better stats.
Don't know if those 30% of customers would have bailed or continued if Apple Pay wasn't available.

It should be noted I don't have an Apple Pay button that checks you out from Shopping Basket without needing to enter any details.
Customers still go to checkout and click Proceed to Payment button, and then the payment provider page is launched with options to use Cards, Google or Apple.

I guess the easiest way to implement would be to use the stripe payment gateway in K9 as you have the option to allow Apple, Google, Klarna, etc.

I use Lloyds cardnet for payments, which isn't built in to K9, as the rates are lower than stripe.

Re: Customer complaint about your site

Nick is working on getting these option linked into Paypal soon

"Concerning other payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay, we're currently working on adding those to the PayPal integration in K9.  As soon as those are ready we'll update your site and I'll let you know when you can turn those on. "

Another nice option would be to have the facility to hide the [Residential] / [Commercial] box for users that do not require that information.

Re: Customer complaint about your site

For UK clients that host with Kryptronic, it would be nice to have a button for changing to summer or winter time, as here in the UK the clocks go back an hour in autumn and forward an hour in spring.
Forward: The shift to British Summer Time (BST) happens in spring .Back: The shift to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) happens in autumn.

Can't you just offset the difference +/- here: Dashboard / System / Component / Settings / Date and Time Settings
I pretty show i just adjust the off set in seconds by 3600 when clocks change.

Re: Customer complaint about your site

When using the POS screen to bring up a customer account, a search by email address will find the very first ever address that customer used even though they may have placed multiple orders with a more recent address. This scenario has happened a few times now because the logic in K9 is to find the very first ever order that customer placed and use those details instead of finding the latest order the customer placed and using those. This would prevent sending items out to previous addresses.
