Order Guide Advice

NOTE: This post was created on 2024-01-18 on the Kryptronic eCommerce Community facebook page, which has been replaced with this forum.  All facebook support content was migrated into this forum in April 2024.

Iím looking for advice on how to do something for a customer who orders regularly and wants to create an order guide for them to use without the chance of possibly ordering similar but different items buy mistake. I first thought about having them create a wishlist but that doesnít remain once items are moved to the shopping cart therefore no longer on the wishlist for the next time they want to order unless the items are manually added again.

Another idea came from a feature I donít believe is available in K9 but perhaps in an earlier version of ClickCartPro where I think we could create a custom webpage view of several items all on one page that can be sent as a link to the customer.

Finally Iíve considered creating a customer specific category that isnít a main category and not a child category of any other category that we can load up items and categories into effectively creating a website within the website that narrows down their products.

Any suggestions for how we can approach this is much appreciated. 😊

I would say creating a category "Fred Bloggs Company" and adding the products to that would be by far the simplest way of making sure they buy the right products.

You don't have to link to it from the home page, just send them the direct link and let them pick from those choices.

In earlier versions we had a one-page store module which allowed you to target products x, y and z and put them on a page to purchase quickly. It sounds like you could use something similar in K9. I'd stay away from making new categories or product offers as they will get indexed by search engines and you don't really want that. I'll make a note to see what we can do about this in a release later this year.

Kryptronic, thank you. I also believe this would be better than a random category getting indexed by search engines.
