Post Code Search criteria

Is there a reason K9 will not allow search criteria using a postcode. In the UK the names Smith and Jones can return hundreds of results. A search with a postcode would find the customer a lot faster.

Re: Post Code Search criteria

There is no particular reason for not having postcode as search criteria in the Order Manager. It is, however, something we can add with a simple mod to the software. If that is something you would like us to handle you can open a support ticket for a quote.

Re: Post Code Search criteria

When you encounter a Jones or Smith, ask for their email address.  Postcode may work in some small areas, but in larger areas a postcode search could return a large number of results.  It's not very unique criteria.

Re: Post Code Search criteria

Thanks Nick, A postcode is unique to a number of houses in a street, normally around 40 houses only. The problem with email address is customers often are unsure as to which email address they used.

Re: Post Code Search criteria

Another good thing to do is ask the order date.  Order numbers are by default generated in the format YYYYMMDD.
