EU’s VAT e-commerce changes on 1 July 2021

Will you be making any changes in the 9.04 update to cater for the new EU VAT change as outlined at:

I have the same question as it was previously elluded to that V9.04 would cater for the following changes .....
from the 1st July the VAT rules are changing for
UK to EU sales
EU to EU sales
and hopefully version 9.04 will incorporate EU to UK sales that came into force on 1st January 2021!

Yes, 9.1.0, which will be released prior to the end of this month, includes support for all new VAT rules.

Tagging on to this as it's related:

I send International orders DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) to save hassle.

What I want to do is to add a message that appears when a customer selects anything but UK as the delivery destination to inform them that they may be charged extra or, possibly better, a link to our FAQ page that explains this.

Can someone suggest a quick way of doing this?

For the time being we just added "(Delivered Duty Unpaid)" to the end of the "product" column in both ecom_shipzoneprod and ecom_shipzonerate tables for relevant entries.

It is there for customers to see when placing their order and in black & white on the order confirmation emails.

We're planning on publishing the 9.1.0 update next week.  There were a few items added to it which required additional time.

Is there any news on the software update?

It's being packaged now.  Changes to the VAT system are included, however due to the nature of the requirements change, there weren't many changes necessary.  Full details will be published upon release, which is expected within the next few days.

Thats good news.....
For EU to UK with the UK buyer being a consumer (ie not a business) will the update cover the mandatory requirement to charge UK VAT on a shipment up to the £135 break point?
Break point is calculated on just the value of the goods (ie excludes shipping & insurance).
