SMTP Installation

I'm Starting a new site but stuck on the page where SMTP information is required.

Changed port to 465 per tech support, but the page doesn't go anywhere - just keeps loading.

I don't know what to put in the username and password boxes.

Re: SMTP Installation

When using SMTP for mail setup, the defaults 'localhost' for the hostname and '25' for the port usually work without issue.  No username and password are typically required.  If that doesn't work, try your username and password with port 25, then with 587.  Those are the two standard SMTP out ports.  If all else fails, switch from SMTP to Sendmail.

Re: SMTP Installation

Thanks Nick, changing it to 587 worked.
