Digital Download
Hello. My client is having problems downloading the product that he purchased. I put the digital product on the core-private/downloads and password protected the directory. The link that the client received for the download is on store/downloads, do I need to password protect this directory? Can you explain again how to configure the digital downloads?

FYI, V9 was changed significantly and no longer uses a downloads folder or passwords. Access to downloads is direct in the user's account or guest order lookup online.

Hello
I read the article but in the article is mentioned that the username and password are stored in the management interface under:
Home >Store > Component > Settings > Download Directory Settings. I there is no "Download Directory Settings" under "Home >Store > Component > Settings >".

One thing is not clear to me... when the client purchases a download the system creates an automatic user and password or I have to put the password and user name on the "Confirmation Email Text" field?

I have put the password and user name on "System > Component > Settings > Directory Protection Settings" but is not clear to me if once I set the user and password the password and user will be automatically sent to the client once he buys the product.

In V8 and lower, the order confirmation email will contain a direct link to a download URL for the file, and the username and password will be there too, for the user to enter. The download URL will expire within a few days. FYI, downloads are handled in a much different, much better fashion in K9. Post a thread in that forum about downloads and how they work, if interested.
