V9 vs V8 Page Load Times

Thought this was interesting:

Notice the immediate drop in page load download time when V9 was installed.  I haven't fully optimized V9 on 855sheller.com yet because we're still going through some changes, but even a non-optimized V9 is faster than my V8 site.

LOL!  It took me a couple of reads.  Guess my mind is still on V6 PageSpeed.

Re: V9 vs V8 Page Load Times

@lgt:  You're doing a bunch of multisites and at the end of it, when you have the final production V9 installed and we've wrapped up your project, I have on my list to minimize all the CSS and JS.  That should cut the render times down quite a bit.

Thanks for posting the metrics.  The proof is right there in your graph.  I think what's missing though, is that your new V9 catalog  is much larger than your V8 catalog.  In addition, you've got eBay and Amazon hot too.  With those items taken into consideration, V9 is far outperforming V8.

Re: V9 vs V8 Page Load Times

If you recall, V8 on 855sheller.com was using Apache PageSpeed Module.  You recommended that I turn it off for V9 as unnecessary.  So PageSpeed was already compressing and managing everything on the fly on V8, not on V9.

This is was one of the reason I waited out for V9.

Re: V9 vs V8 Page Load Times

Yeah, I've been debating what to post on this forum and what-not.

For most of a decade, I've heard the, 'It's coming..." Without any knowledge of what or when.  I have absolutely no control of the when, but I'm trying to post information of the what; and some of the what's left.

I'm proud to be one of the early release testers that have helped knock off some of the rough edges.  Many have asked questions about what they've wanted, but not seen yet,  Nick is very much taking that into consideration.

I'm not privy in the least as to what Nick is going to do next or when V9 will finally be released.  I'm not even the messenger.

I get emails from him telling me that an update is coming any day now.. in Kryptronic Days.

I'm not getting V9 for free.  I'm paying a discounted-premium.  Premium in that it is costing me many, many times more than it will cost you.  A discount because if I paid for all the hand-holding, I'd have to get a second job.
