Hello when viewing my site in Chrome and Firefox everything works correctly, but once inside of Internet Explorer it crashes. The site is setup for complete SSL on all pages. When I view the site as non-secure in Internet Explorer none of my images are visible. The site is https://eloisespastries.com/ and any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Nick:
I've tried the link on 2 different computers plus a customer has sent me screenshots of the errors. In a perfect world no one would use Internet Explorer (ha ha), but unfortunately customers still uses IE. What can be done if this isn't a local issue? Thanks.

I've only got one machine with IE on it here and it's working fine. Try the reinstall and see if that cures the issue on your machine. If so, it might be an IE version issue. Not sure which version of IE you're testing with on these various machines. If it is a version issue, and we can identify that, then we can start looking at JS on the site that could be causing it. When you say it crashes, I assume the browser crashes and closes out with an error. I also assume this is happening on all pages, but if not, that's important to know.

Nick if the site is being viewed as "https" it gives an "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. With "http" none of my images are displaying, just text. I've reinstalled IE version 9 with Vista. The other computer I'm using has Windows 7 with the latest supported IE browser.

I've done all of the updates suggested for Internet Explorer and I have the same issue with my site not being visible in IE with a secure path. The confusing part is when I view one of the sites from your "Showcase Sites" there isn't an issue with IE. The site is "https://www.stylinstrings.com". Are there any suggestions of what could be wrong with my installation of CCP? Thanks.

I can see the site fine on IE.

Start disabling the custom javascripts you have running in your skin by removing them. Actually remove all of them and start with the base setup. See if that works. If so, start adding that custom JS in until it breaks and you'll have found your issue.

Hello:
I disabled all of the custom javascript and the issue with IE was still happening.
BUT when I changed the "base href" from https:// to http:// the home page came up in IE.
The site is setup for "https" across all pages. Any reason why this setup is an issue with IE? Thanks for any suggestions.

Any suggestions for this issue? Thanks.

You have a javascript error with the qtip tooltips.
I would remove the refeference to them in frontend.js to see if it resolves the issues. This will disable all your tooltips.
There could be a conflict with the other scripts you are running or it may be something to do with the longdesc attribute you have in all your social media image links.
In IE9, press f12 and you will be able to see the error that causes the crash.

Hello Zanart. I took your advise, but still no success. The only thing that gives me any type of results is changing the base href to non-secure, but I would like the site to be secured on all pages. Any suggestions why the "base href" being secured crashes the site in IE?

Weird. I would think you're issue is with some backwards compatibility featured turned on in your MSIE install, but you said this happens with a few computers. Since your store install is in fact in the root web directory (http://eloisespastries.com/) you can safely remove the base href tag from the top of the skin without any ill effect to compensate for this IE issue.
zanart: I was tired of qtip issues in V8, so you should be happy to know V9 has a much more lightweight, Kryptronic-coded solution for those tips and modals. Completely responsive.

Hello Nick I tried your suggestion of removing the base href tag and the site crashes in all browsers. This is quite confusing because I tried the site on another computer with IE and the site worked without an issue. I'm not sure why some installations of IE works with https and others don't. What steps do I need to take to reverse making the site fully https? Initially that was done to help with PCI compliance, but I believe we are losing customers that do not have the correct IE setup. Thanks for your guidance on this issue.

This site produces this error:
TypeError: jQuery(...).qtip is not a function
but the function appears in frontend.js, so I would guess it is some kind of conflict.
The problem is likely down to the number of errors on the site, including 2 sets of <head> tags and 2 sets of <body> tags.
You really need to remove all the extra scripts and the embedded wowslider and see if the error goes.
