Googlebase XML Module

I have installed this, and there isn't too much information on this, if possible I would like to know the following:

1. after installation it doesn't show in utilities, so I guess there is a delay much like the sitemap file, is there an SQL you can force update much like with the sitemap (UPDATE core_settings SET value=1 WHERE id LIKE '%.cron_%')?

2. Under the module settings, XML Channel Description - where is this actually shown i.e. to public?

3. XML Channel Link - would this be domain.com/utilities/googlebase.xml ?

4. XML Channel Title - what would one normally use here?

Many Thanks

Re: Googlebase XML Module

(1) Yes, run the same statement (UPDATE core_settings SET value=1 WHERE id LIKE '%.cron_%') to get SiteMaps/GoogleBase basically all cron to run.

(2) Not sure.  I think that's for Google.

(3) Yes

(4) Your store name

Re: Googlebase XML Module

Hey, I am just setting up my ccp connection to my google store, and I was wondering if you recall how long it took to show the connection in your data feed in the google merchant center?

Also, is the Daily FTP hostname the same as the Daily FTP username? If not, where do I find the host name in google?
Thank you,

Re: Googlebase XML Module

I would recommend not using the Google FTP connection to send the feed from the store to Google.  It's not that it doesn't work, but it looks better and is easier to manage on the Google side if you just set up the feed in Google to pull nightly from the URL where googlebase.xml is stored (http://www.yourdomain.com/store-public/ … lebase.xml).

Re: Googlebase XML Module

Ok that works great. Thank you!

As the product versions on googlebase can not be option based items, i am making duplicate products - can I set a product to not visible to anyone on the online store but 'false' to google base so that it sells there? Or by 'not being visible to anyone' will make it not available to google base?

Re: Googlebase XML Module

No, those products would be invisible to the customers clicking the links from Google.  That won't work.
