Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

You're server is running PHP 5.3+ and you're running CCP below version 7.1.2.  Please update your software according to these instructions: https://kryptronic.com/cms-xmodnewsrss_ … 2012A.html

No.  Any SQL commands you might need to run can be run from a tool like PHPMyAdmin.  You need to use the installer.php script to run the update.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

Soooo......  will this walk me through it step by step CLEARLY? so far my experience with this app is that instructions are vague at best, and require the forum for a bail out.  I recall this being a real hassle to setup in the first place, and I've never run an upgrade.

I'm still trying to decide if I should do this now, or just get the 8 upgrade. My big concern is that the solution for my issue is to upgrade something that had been running fine, and not fixing what I have. I'm already a bit worried as I am currently at 4 years and hundreds of man hours and nothing to show for it, at least at the moment.

Big fear....... What happens next time?  What if I'm on the most current version and something like this happens again?

Step by step instructions can be found here:

https://kryptronic.com/cms-xmodnewsrss_ … 2012A.html

If they're too much for you to follow, we can do the update for you through our custom shop.  Submit a quote request here:

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

No, you can upgrade to v8 without updating v6/v7 if you want.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

Okay, so I went to the purchase page, and it requires me to enter my license number, but I don't have it. I'm unable to get it from the management interface, and the email is long since gone.

Do I have any options at all?

Also, does 8 work with all the skins from prior versions? I bought one that I really liked, I'd hate to lose it.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

You can look in the private config.php file.  The license key will be in there.  If you don't have that, contact the custom shop and we can dig it up for you.  Just email him the email address you used to purchase the software and the domain it was installed on.

Concerning the skins, there is a way to manually import a v7 skin:

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

Ok, so I ordered support today, paid my 75.00 and got back an email directing me to the installation instructions that I was given in this thread:

Hi,

If you look at kryptronic.com you'll see a bar on the lower right that says news
and RSS.

https://kryptronic.com/eCommerce-News

There is a section for upgrading to 7.15.

Have fun.

SERIOUSLY????

I'm getting a really bad feeling about this whole thing at this point.

You may not have replied to your ticket with your order number.  Let Jeff know you paid to have us do an update for you.  Thanks.

I clicked on the link for the 'submit your level 2 support ticket'  and filled out the form immediately and sent as soon as I got the email with the order number.  Had all my info in it.

I'll go back and re submit it then.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

So it seems the reply to me was sent before they read they ticket notice.  I got a follow up notice this morning.

Ok, now comes the hard part...waiting.

fingers crossed.  If all goes well I'll have a functional site soon.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

UGH.....

I have an admin panel that I can actually get to now.........

And no website. I kinda thought I'd see my website there after this was done. Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

I'm kind of wondering if this means I have to start building my site from scratch?

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

You can't use an older skin with ccp8, without modifying it.

They upgrade my 7.11 to 7.15 so I should have a visible site showing.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

Then there are changes needed to your old ccp7 skin to make it able to work with php 5.3x or higher.

John

it was running on it before just fine with php 5.3x, so I can't see how the skin is at issue now, unless it is the 7.15 update which changed something that is causing the issue.

I'll send a mail to the author of the Zipskin and see if he's got any suggestions, but at this point, I'm at a loss.

Re: 2+ years of work down the drain?

Ok, that was a no go on the updating skins.

I pulled the skin.php file and all the references were already '$skinfunc->xnamespace()' as the provided link said to change.

I got a message back from Nigel at Zipskins asking for more info, but at the moment, I'm no closer to a website than I was before.
