I want to have the links for

All Products
New Products
etc

at the top of the Categories list (which I have on the SIDEMENU) so that it reads:

Categories
All Products
New Products
Category1
Category2

etc

I want it to display in this way in each skin - desktop, mobile etc. Also for All Products and New Products to visually look the same as the other categories.

I started to explore how to do this and discovered that I might need to modify catlist.php. This seems pretty complex for what seems a simple request. Am I going about it in the right way or is there a better approach someone could suggest?
