CCP Installation error - Incorrect string value: '\x97
OK, today has been a long day. I have been fightin' to load this server up and I am almost there !
I ran into this error when trying to load step 13 of 13 onto my server;
An error was encountered while performing the database load task requested. Error Information: The MySQL extension encountered a problem submitting an SQL statement. MySQL reported the error as: Incorrect string value: '\x97 are ...' for column 'desclong' at row 1
Is there a way to correct this?

Yes, I do believe that is correct.
The reinstall is on a Windows 2012 Essentials server, latest MYSQL and PHP 5.4.x

If this is a reinstall (assuming you're moving from one server to another) why aren't you just loading the whole database using a .sql file? Running the installer will not install data from a previous installation that resides elsewhere.

Nick, I honestly don't care about the old data, The website that currently holds the data on the old server can be redone pretty quickly. Rather than jump through 20+ hoops to take old data off the old server, install it on the new server, and all the other stuff that's associated with it, I'd rather start from scratch. =\
