Hi Guys:
At this point I was hoping I was getting the hang of this. However, I am on my second site installing this cart and now some things are acting different. This
http:mysite.com/store
I cannot get my splash page slider to show up at all. The sidebar banners show up fine as do the featured sliders on the home page (http:mysite.com/store/store) so I know javascript is working. Right?
Location: System Dashboard > Store > Component > Settings > Display Controls: Store Splash Page Lists, Product List: Activate Slider is set to true.
Location: System Dashboard > Website > Content > Banner Advertisements
DEMO-CONTENT-SPLASH-1 Demo Content Splash Banner 1 True (1) Content Section SPLASH 10
Looks good to me. But nothing on the page. I checked the store > media > cms > banners and the files are there.
As far as i know that is the correct procedure to get the slider on the splash page to show up.
Any ideas why?
Thanks.

Hey Nick:
Things were so screwed up I blew away the entire installation and reinstalled.
Before I ran the importer 7 to 8 the slider was working fine.
After the importer ran, the slider quite working.
So far that is the only thing done on this installation.
Thanks.

When you ran the import from v7 to v8 the splash page (assuming you mean the HTML splash page) was updated. This would have wiped out the 'SPLASH' designation for that page for it's 'Banner Advertisement Group' edited under Website > Content > Webpages.

I see your point.
Is there a way to get it back or do I reinstall.
Thank you.

Thanks Nick, that's a great idea!

I thought it was!
Everything is there except the slider. It is starting to look like this is a delicate element.
Not sure what to do.

Make sure:
(1) Your splash page has it's 'Banner Advertisement Group' set to 'SPLASH'.
AND
(2) You have a banner assigned to that group ('SPLASH') which is active.
That is all there is to it.

It looks like you also have to go to Location: System Dashboard > Website > Content > Webpages
click on Banner Advertisement Group and input SPLASH
Wouldn't that be a third step?
