Is it just me or did the thread about the release get deleted or removed. I had been checking back from time to time to see about any updates and now it is gone?

I'm afraid that was my fault it disappeared Tony. That's why I quickly got this thread going.

I hit delete instead of edit on the first post, and as I was the one that started the thread, it got deleted. Sorry...  hmm

That's what happens when gobsmacked battles expectaions. It's more like "if and when," now. Today, next week or end of year? I wouldn't hold my breath on any of them.

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

There was 2 threads, one about UK release time and another about opinions on v8? Anyway the saga continues... I have heard of extra features being added to make this a worthy upgrade in the end though! This week would be nice hey?

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

How many of you have ever worked on something for 32 hours straight and when you were done, you were so tired you couldn't see straight, and still hadn't solved your issue?  I mean, you worked so hard and so long that when you finished you looked so bad your dog barked at you and your wife told you that you needed a shower.  And at the end of it the problem wasn't solved... Then you got some rest and got back to it the next day and the answer was miraculously staring you straight in the face so hardcode you felt like a dumbass.

I've officially joined that club.  I apologize for the delay.  The licenses will be issued, the demo will be published and the site will be updated by the end of the day today.

Yes, we added a bunch of previously undocumented features this past week.  I guess it's safe to let the cat out of the bag now...  Added this week, off the top of my head, were a full-on product filter system, the account system and checkout went full on, fully configurable ajax (way more than single page checkout), the mini shopping cart now has an ajax based mouseover hover which displays all cart items and recently viewed items, and we added a loyalty points system.

That's off the top of my head.  There's more I'd have to look at my notes for.  Stay tuned, it's coming today...

Great news thanks Nick. We've all been there and really pleased to hear about the prod filter. Dare I say v8 sounds worth the wait smile

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

Yeah! I have been doing my homework due to delays on what features were about and the product filter feature and loyalt points were on my list as things I decided my sites now needed, or at least should have now. Glad to see u felt the same! By the sounds of it everything on my list is now in v8...

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  It's now 9PM and I've been working since 1AM.  I did take a break to go to church today, but outside of that, I've been at my desk.  I've got the software packaged and ready to go.  I'm going to get some rest until about 2AM then get back at it and publish everything.  I'm not comfortable doing it now since I'm nearly cross-eyed at this point.  UK users should have the software ready to install after lunchtime GMT tomorrow, and US users should have it shortly after they logon tomorrow morning.

Been there, done that. But that's what happens when you try to do it all yourself Nick. You should know that by now.

Hi Tommy, I'm surprised you have any bit left to chomp. Got through mine back in March.

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

We've been through most of the time  continuum, "end of month", "within two weeks", "end of the week", "end of the day", and now "in a few hours".

If you are going by CCP time then you not only missed the birth of your child, you missed her college graduation, grandpa!

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day..

He is correct in that the v8 update will arrive after lunch today. And version 9 will also arrive sometime after lunch today. Could do with a time  which the new version will arrive...

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

Wolverine is your knife site a serious live site at the mo out of interest? Do you sell much? There's no SEO and all you seem to have done design wise is insert a very poorly fitting logo with mismatching colours to the stock theme?

Just a bit of constructive criticism as you can surely do much beter than that with a bought skin if necessary..

I'm taking it to the next level with v8 though and paying a designer friend to get involved (who did my logos) with a custom design to roll out across all my sites that'll make em look real stand out!! Then just different colours and logos for each, plus content & products of course!

However maybe this v8 is all fantasy? It feels that way... Maybe Nick is just pulling our leg?

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

Just had a very expensive reassuring conversation with Jeff.

Rest at ease troops, these few days of heartache will very soon be a distant memory once you get your hands on V8. ( I wonder if the best was saved just so they could have it named V8, very cool). smile

Re: Can we have an Update on CCP8 Release please Nick?

Please get the "demo" out soon, I'm tired of playing with 15-day trial periods of other hosted carts. Seems like every cart is missing something I want.

How will the upgrade to v8 work with ClickCartPro Extreme SEO XMOD by Cartmod?
How will the upgrade to v8 work with GoogleBase XMOD by DynaComp?

Thanks!
