Image attachment option

When setting an option to attach an image for an order, where does that image go and how does one access it? It did not come through the email on the test order, so I am figuring it's on the server ... somewhere...

Re: Image attachment option

Have you looked in Location: System Dashboard > System > File Manager > Uploaded Files

Re: Image attachment option

Yup. Nothing there. But I did not get an error when I did the test order and uploaded a file.

Re: Image attachment option

Hey Hey,

It's broken, but if you open a ticket ($ for a small fee $) they can fix it for you lol. File upload does not work properly in v7. I am waiting for v8 as it has been rewritten to work properly.

Cheers,
Bruce.

Re: Image attachment option

Thanks. I sure wish I'd been told that when I inquired with Kryptronic about the ability to do this, as it's a VERY integral part of this particular website.

Not quite sure what led you to that conclusion but uploading files works in V7 and always had.

Re: Image attachment option

Hi Dave,

Well.... this... https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=29485 https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=29150 https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=28676 https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=28773 https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=29671 https://forum.kryptronic.com/viewtopic.php?id=27257 all unresolved at the end of the messages, including mine... and all calls to anybody that has this working fall on deaf ears...

I have a mod in v6uk that allows file-upload as an item option and gives a clickable link in my email but not the customers email, it also appends a random string to the file. I can not get this to work in v7 euro+joomla and was told it would be a chargeable issue, but it has been rewritten to work in v8.

Cheers,
Bruce.

Re: Image attachment option

I just read through all 3 of those threads and I did not see anything unresolved in any of them Bruce.

Uploaded files as a product option aren't going to have a link that you can click on to get to the file. They go, by design, in the private folder which is, also be design, blocked from being accessed using a web browser.

Also Bruce...FYI...we don't charge for tech support any longer...haven't for a few years.  We only charge for custom changes or if you've really messed something up and we have to get the engineers to fix it for you.

Re: Image attachment option

I can attest to that.. you folks have been extremely helpful with tech support and the only time I've paid is when I have had some custom work done, which has always been reasonable for the sometimes-tricky work I've requested! Now if I can just get this file attachment to work....
back later.. getting a bigger hammer....

Re: Image attachment option

Hi All,

We I will consider myself well and truly chastised...:-( Oh.. and sorry Jeff that is news to me... good news... but still news...

So... In that case it all seems to work, with just one issue the uploaded file is not appended in the email with the new name, so I can't tell which of the similar named files is which.
Oh also...
In the backend it says... "Presented below are public and private uploaded files that are available to save and delete. To save a file, right click on the Save link and choose to save the file to your local hard drive. To delete a file, click the Delete link." but according to Dave this is impossible as you are not allowed to get the file in a web browser, which would explain the lack of "Save" button in that panel, right? so the office staff must have access to ftp on the live site. Is this correct?

Don't get me wrong I love this cart, but with the Euro version issues over the past year and the amount of bespoking and simple changes I have had to do, to get it back to the same looky feel and functionality of GB V6 I may be a little jaded.

Cheers,
Bruce.
