how do i create a table for my splash page?

Hi

I currently have 6 categories on my splash page.  however, I would like to change the width of my category boxes and if I do that then my splash page gets stretched!

In each category I have 4 subs and when you click into it they would look better if they were fatter

wwwperfectgiftboxes.com

In order to do this I want to keep the splash page pics of categories the same as they are now and maybe just create a hyper link instead of direct link. so I need to create a table which makes it look identical but obviously I cannot call them categories or it willk just pull the information across.

to unclutter that whole babble

<table id="core--cptbl--xk56fx799" class="cptbl_cat">

<tr class="cptbl_cat">

<td class="cptbl_cat">

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="pgbcategory">

Re: how do i create a table for my splash page?

Hi,

I think I understand...

The opening table needs an exact size to stop it getting bigger and smaller so something like this should help

Code:

<table width="480" class="cptbl_cat" id="core--cptbl--xk56fx799">
  <tr class="cptbl_cat">

It is just a multiple of the three column widths, if you add padding to your cells add that too to your first width.

Oh! and here is a simple 3 column table you can use to creat your tables

Code:

<table width="480" border="0" cellspacing="4" cellpadding="6">
  <tr>
    <th scope="col"><div align="center">Heading</div></th>
    <th scope="col"><div align="center">Heading</div></th>
    <th scope="col"><div align="center">Heading</div></th>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td><div align="center">Image</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Image</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Image</div></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td><div align="center">Description</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Description</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Description</div></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td><div align="center"><strong>Heading</strong></div></td>
    <td><div align="center"><strong>Heading</strong></div></td>
    <td><div align="center"><strong>Heading</strong></div></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td><div align="center">Image</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Image</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Image</div></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td><div align="center">Description</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Description</div></td>
    <td><div align="center">Description</div></td>
  </tr>
</table>

hope this helps.

Cheers,
Bruce.

Hi Victoria,

It would go in your splash page or what ever page you have set up as your landing/home page. BACKUP page first!!!

Cheers,
Bruce.

Rather than trying to hack the store splash page, why not just create a new page and set it to the default namespace for the site. Then you can enter your custom table without having to worry about the store splash page category displays.

Hi,

Location: Home > ClickCartPro (GBU) > Application: Profile and Namespaces > Application Profile - Default Namespace for Application*

choose your landing page from the drop down list.

Cheers,
Bruce.

Re: how do i create a table for my splash page?

The script displaying the splash page, as far as i know, is only set to look for a specific entry in the System Dashboard > Website > Content > Webpages section, that file should have the name (id) of splash. You should clone your splash page so that you have a copy of the original code and make your changes to the script named splash, so the script will display what you want.
