Cardservices integration

Does the integration with Cardservices International require the Linkpoint API service/informatoin or the Linkpoint Basic service/information.  They are two different services they offer however I can't find specific information in the docs as to which is usable.

CCP uses the 'Basic' service.  The 'API' service requires server side software and isn't very easy to install for the average user.
