Cannot place an order.

I just successfully installed the software on RedHat 6.2. I added   a test product, or rather edited an existing product to my actual product, that shows on the site properly. When I select the item I added or any other item, they never show in the cart.
How can I get a product added to the cart?

It sounds like you still need to set the permissions on the data dir and all sub-dirs and files within it to 777.  Also, check to be sure the cookie settings are correct in Program Settings - Edit Program Settings
