Happy New Year to all! - apart from the UK revenue and customs department, who have changed our VAT rate back to 17.5% and given us plenty of work to do on a bank holiday!!!!
I have changed the VAT rates, no problem, but this will not apply to existing items that customers have put into their shopping carts or wishlists (I think). As a result I need to either update the VAT rate in the customers cart (preferable) or empty out any shopping carts that haven't been checked out. I'm hoping someone will be able to advise where/how I can do this, a custom cron job perhaps or maybe editing the correct KHXC database table (if I can find which one to edit)?
Any advice appreciated.

The checkout process should calculate the taxes correctly. Taxes aren't calculated until the checkout process is started.

No holiday for you either then Dave? ;-)
Taxes are added when the item is put into the cart, if someone put something in their cart yesterday it would have 15% tax on it, if they check it out today it should have 17.5% on it but it keeps the tax as it was when entered into their cart. I've tried it with my own cart and have different tax rates for items in the cart that haven't been paid for.

As I said, taxes should be recalculated when the checkout process is started.

Hmm..just had another look at this, I may be talking through my a**e. Apologies to you Dave if so! I'll wait and see what happens...

Ok, I've had another look at this and the tax remains at 15% for items placed in the cart prior to the tax rate being changed. Any new items added to the cart are taxed correctly.
If someone can point me to the table where saved cart information is stored I should be able to sort it out, I've had a look using RawDB admin but can't find it.
