Custom menu and file upload product option

Before my queries, I would just like to say I love this new interface!  It's much easier to navigate than version 6 and, with persistence (+ the user's guide), I'm managing to find most of what I need.

Two questions..

With CCP 6 I made use of the custom menu for various effects, etc. that we offer.  Not quite sure how this can be achieved in the new version?  The only option on System/Displays/Custom Menu is to update the existing "Customer Feedback" item, no Clone or Insert Row in database?  I'd prefer to keep them in a separate menu, how can this be done?

Also, the main reason for getting the upgrade was the file upload product option.  I've found out how to increase the file size and where to download the images from.  But, is there any way of allowing multiple file uploads - other than by adding more options to the products, which could begin to look messy.

Thanks, Denise

There isn't. HTML form controls don't allow more than one file to be selected at a time.

Glad you like the new interface.  I really like it too after working with it straight for the past week.  I still wouldn't have the kryptronic site launched if we were using CCP6.

You can build out your own menu by hand in your skin - or you can use RawDB admin to add new entries to the custom menu table (it's called core_custommenu).

This would be done using multiple upload options for the same product.  The upload option is a one-file deal.

Re: Custom menu and file upload product option

Thanks Nick and Dave for the quick responses.  I did think that the file upload would be a no-no, but it was worth a try!

Re: Custom menu and file upload product option

Re: Nick's instruction about using RawDB admin to add new entries to the custom menu... Thanks BUT ...

.. if you want to reference webpages in the custom menu ... is there somewhere which gives examples of how to do this. The manual is not particularly helpful. Some examples would help of how the following fields should be populated:

'app'
'reference '

Thanks
