Mini cart / shipping view possible on remote pages?

Hi guys,

I'm almost satisfied with my CCP6 implementation - now that it's more or less obsolete (!). One thing that is sadly lacking, and I suspect may be putting some customers off, is a 'mini cart view' and more importantly estimated shipping cost prior to entering account details. I realize that this will have to be a default calculation but it would be nice if my customers to see that we offer the cheapest shipping without them having to perform too many keystrokes.

I don't know if this is possible in CCP6 and I doubt even more that I could implement it from a remote page. I use CCP purely as a checkout solution, I use my own database and .asp pages. I also have a heavily modified shipping script, wondering if it's possible to call this up from a remote page and display the results using Java or something...Has anyone managed to set anything like this up?

Hope someone can offer me some pearls of wisdom.

Cheers

RobH

Re: Mini cart / shipping view possible on remote pages?

The US version of CCP 6 as well as version 7 have a shipping estimator available that allows a shipping estimate to be calculated from product detail pages which works with custom shipping methods as well as real time carriers etc. Unfortunately it isn't available for the UK version of CCP 6. It's a non-trivial modification and wouldn't lend itself into being retrofit into the UK version of CCP 6. In any case it wouldn't be available or work with remote pages as they are completely outside the realm of CCP.

Ok, thanks, I was afraid you might say that.
