The in my dashboard statistics is a 3-digit number, and in Google Analytics the page views is 1-digit number. This discrepancy in the numbers brings up the following questions:
1. Where does the large page view number in the dashboard come from?
2. How is it calculated?
3. Does it calculate my visits to the site and if so, how do I change the setting so it doesn't?

I would recommend seeing if your web host offers a statistics program like Awstats or Webalizer and if so use that. My host uses Cpanel, and in the Logs section those programs are available. You get very detailed information, and you can see where those numbers come from.
