Upgrade

Hi Nick,

What is the best path to upgrade? I have about 800+ products.

Should we follow this?:

- Buy upgrade
- Run installer
- Run Importer

Thanks

Carlos

Re: Upgrade

Yes, that is the best path to upgrade.  We've updated the Software Wiki and published two new articles for ClickCartPro 7 concerning upgrading:

Upgrading from 5.x: http://wiki.kryptronic.com/CCP7UpgradingFrom5X
Upgrading from 6: http://wiki.kryptronic.com/CCP7UpgradingFrom6

Re: Upgrade

I've already asked Nick about your situation but you've revealed something in your post that may answer the question.  You appear to be using the version 7 installer but your license is for version 6.  Did you purchase an upgrade to version 7 or are you trying to install version 6?

Re: Upgrade

Did you download the installer for version 7?  It's very different than the one for version 6.  If you have the proper installer please send me, via e-mail, your order number for the upgrade.

Re: Upgrade

Make sure that a) you are using the V7 installer and b) that you are using your new V7 license key which was received in your order confirmation note.

Re: Upgrade

Dave,
I think the license key I used was the old one at the bottom of the order and not on the download email..  How do I change that on the installer. It just seems to bypass it

Re: Upgrade

You want to install version 7 as a fresh installation then use the V6 to V7 importer to move data from your V6 installation over to the V7 installation.  You should be starting clean with your V7 installation.
