Hi,
I've been using FedEx and wanted to add USPS. I've followed the instructions.
Called to get USPS live. I added my username that they supplied.
Went to Location: Home > ClickCartPro > Shipping: Realtime Shippers and Custom Shipping Methods > Configure USPS WebTools Connection. The only thing available was Deacitvate for this connection.
Checked Home > ClickCartPro > Shipping: Realtime Shippers and Custom Shipping Methods > Manage Realtime Shipping Carriers. UPS online tools and USPS WebTools were both set to True.
Checked Home > ClickCartPro > Shipping: Realtime Shippers and Custom Shipping Methods > Manage Realtime Shipping Services. All USPS Domestic services were set to True. I did not include all International rates.
Opened a specific product. Set pricing, weight, etc. Set UPS Online Tools and USPS Web Tools. Delivery Method (Realtime Carrier. Custom Shipping: Method-->Calculation onf Total Item Weight
When I go to check out only FedEx appears as an option. I can't figure out what happened to USPS.

Did you start your test with an empty cart?
Offline
Yes, I started with an empty cart... several times.

Are you getting UPS rates for the product? What are the weight and dimensions of the product? You may want to which will probably provide the clue as to why you aren't getting the USPS rates.
Offline
No, I'm not getting UPS rates, just FedEx. The minimum dimensions are 1" and the product weights vary, but are .5 to 1.5. I don't think that's the problem, because FedEx works fine. It's just USPS. I'll enable debug.

Sorry, I read UPS in your first post. The fact that you're getting something from FedEx helps. We'll have to see what debug can tell us.

This is the error I got:
khxc_remote::connect: Received response from URL http://production.shippingapis.com/shippingapi.dll: <Error> <Number>80040b1a</Number> <Description>Authorization failure. You are not authorized to connect to this server.</Description> <Source>UspsCom::DoAuth</Source> </Error>
I received my username directly from WebTools and I'm not sure why it's not authorizing me to use the service.

Well the URL you are going to is correct. It should looks like a problem with your user information from here.

Ok, so I ended up giving up on this, but I really need to have USPS option now and am revisiting it. Everything is still as it was and still isn't working. I even contacted USPS and they said that for the 3rd time that my user ID is active and that the problem must be on your end. Any new ideas?
Offline
Ok, so USPS told me the following today:
"There is a line of code that refers to "shippingapitest.dll". You'll need to remove the word "test"."
Anybody have any idea where this code is?

I still really need help trying to get my USPS working. I've gotten a handful of new codes from USPS thinking that maybe getting a new one might just fix my problems. It didn't. I've had several USPS people look very thoroughly through this matter and they say everything on their end is just as it is suppose to be. I think I've bugged them so much that they now no longer respond.
I've gone through everything on Click Carts end and just can't figure it out. Everything is checked and looks like it should work.
Please help!

The word shippingapitest does not exist anywhere in any context in a fresh installation of CCP. Where did USPS tell you that they saw that?
Offline
They didn't see that anywhere. They just said that when there is a problem that is what it usually is and to make sure mine no longer says that. If it's not there then I guess that's not the problem.

If you want to e-mail me your admin URL and credentials I'll take a quick look at things for you. Also, back in post 7 you had enabled debug but only showed us what was returned. If you still have that debug information it might help to see what the actual request that was sent looks like.

We recently updated to the latest version of CCP.
Offline
Opps... no... we're actually 6.0.4
Offline
Yes, you are WAY behind on updates (5 behind actually). The first thing I'd recommend is getting all of the updates applied so you're at the current release.

One thing that has changed in the USPS arena are the names of the services for international shipping so I would expect those to be broken. It's quite possible that the request still having those old names is now resulting in an error being returned by USPS. You should be able to prove or disprove that by disabling the Worldwide USPS service options in admin and seeing whether or not it works for a domestic address.

How do I go about getting all the updates applied? I guess I'll start there.
Offline
All of the updates along with all of the pre and post manual things that must be done are detailed on . You may also elect to have us update your site (there's a link to the request quote form on that page).
Offline
Like I said in post 20 though, you should be able to narrow things down a little with the suggestion in that post. Though I'd still highly recommend going ahead with the updates. There's been quite a bit of change since the version you're using.

Hi Dave,
My USPS quit working again. I emailed USPS and this was their reply:
Coding for our Webtools API's regarding the recent rate change was updated on Jan 2nd, 2011. If you are experiencing problems with your shopping cart you should contact them for assistance. They should be aware of the recent changes and have a fix/solution for you.
