We have a store running on CCP51 that we are migrating to the latest version of CCP. Somehow we lost the database password to the original CCP51 MySQL database. We need it to make a backup of our CCP51 installation as our webhost requires a full user password to make database backups.
Is there a way to recover that password somewhere in the CCP51m admin files?
Thanks,
Estelle Carol

As far as I understand, it cannot be recovered. It is encrypted by a one-way hash that cannot be reversed to the best of my knowledge. You might but in an inquiry with Stephen at Cartmod.com to see if he knows any way to hack it out of there, but it certainly isn't something that can be done by the user or the host. However, the password can be reset and there are several threads on the forum here about how to do that. And your host should be able to reset the password on the database side since they have root access. So basically, the host should be able to reset the password for the database and then you can follow instructions on the forum here to get that changed password into CCP.
