numbox ?

When setting up real time shipping, one of the parameters is numbox.  The sample file says:

If the product should be grouped with other
items when shipped, pass the 'numbox' field as '0', otherwise
pass the 'numbox' field as the number of boxes (1 min, 6 max)

This confuses me.  I can see a possible use to this for some cases, like if you're buying a computer.  The main computer would be in one box, and the monitor in another.  But how can the shipping give accurate prices not knowing the weight/dimensions of each box?

Assuming that you've got a store without that sort of "multiple box" scenario, are the only realistic options:
'0' - can be combined with other items in same box
'1' - must be shipped in its own box

Re: numbox ?

The script takes items that ship with other items and adds them till it reaches the maximum dimensions and or weight that shippers like UPS, Fedex will ship. When either the maximum limits are reached or all items in the cart have been assigned to a box then it will present the box(s) to the shipper to obtain the shipping amount.
