After you imported the clean file was the items in the database? You will get a message saying that everthing imported successfully but it will not actually put items in the database if one or several columns where missing in the import file.

Yes, I checked and all items were listed in the DB... but were not accessible through the management console. They were also visable in the store.

John, with all the testing, deleting, adding, etc., I screwed up everything so bad nothing was assessible and had my server do a restore from one of their backups.
I'm now back to V6.6.2 and 6.0.4 and intend to bring them up to speed later tonight... after reviewing each and every item first!

I thought I'd be able to bring them ip to speed, but another roadblock occured: while attempting to process the 5th link under step 4 in the upgrade process, the first item failed. The error message was simply something to the effect it failed.
I did another re-install from the backup this morning only to find the following files wouldn't transfer over to the host server:
public_html/ktxc/index.php
public_html/ktxc/error_log
Nor did the following transfer back to the server:
suspended.page (a 4.09kb folder)
templates (a folder of which only 49% transfered to the server)
And the following free standing files:
_vti.inf.html
index.htm
Now, when attempting to access the admin page, I receive the message:
"Kryptronic Hybrid X Core :: Account Login
There was a processing problem encountered while processing your request. Please try again later."
Suggestions?

I would check your permissions for the private_dir and public_dir to make sure they are set right.
CCP has no error_log or _vit.infi.html file so don't know where those are coming is from. CCP also doesn't us index.htm or index.html although some files do contain index.html which are generally there for some error messages.
If when you installed or re-installed the program and used https: in the secure url field and don't have a security certificate for the site then you can also get the processing error when loading the admin page.

Come to think of it, those files may be part of the front end I use for the site.

Nope, didn't use HTTPS.
By the way, the BU I used did not re-install ktxc private. Is there something in there that may be corrupted?

Jack,
I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I noticed you are referring to files in the ktxc folders, and I thought the folders were named khxc. Could that be the problem?

You may have to use the option to overwrite all files and the database instead of just trying to update files that have been changed. If a file as been flagged as being updated it will not be re-installed on a subsequent running of the installer. If you haven't mad any mods to the original codes then they only thing that will happen if you choose to overwrite the files is that it will install the demo products back into the product database.

I overwrote all files.

That was my "bad", Cyndi. It is named khxc. Thanks for helping anyhow.
I'm going to do one more restore from backup sometime today. If I can get into the admin panel (I can't even log in at this point), I'll browse the files to see if I can find something. If it all looks okay, I'll update the system as outlined. If that fails, I'll be requesting help from Dave.
More later.

John, I'm just about at the end of my rope. I've once again restored from backup, only to once again receive the following message when I go to login through the admin panel (http://www.orderdepartment.com/khxc/admin.php):
"Kryptronic Hybrid X Core :: Account Login
There was a processing problem encountered while processing your request. Please try again later."
I'm at a dead end. How do I recover from this? Is there a "reset button" somewhere where I can clear whatever's clogging things up?
We've been going back and forth for 3-4 days now and nothing has been accomplished. How do I contact Dave... or Nick?

will tell you what's going wrong and where.

I enabled "debug" and captured the info. It's 9 1/2 printed pages long. Do you want me to post it here, or do you want me to send it somehow as an attachment. There seem to be several parts that don't look too good including the bottom of page 3 and most of page 6, 7, and 8.

Please send it as an attachment to my e-mail address (dave@kryptronic dot com).

It's on the way!

An update:
Dave examined the files and discovered they were so corrupted, it almost demanded a full re-install (when I say "almost demanded," it would have taken forever to straighten them out).
So I bit the bullet, deleted the CCP60 files (except the categories) and did a new install. It's back to step one and I'll have to re-install all the products, since it may have been that database that caused the entire fiasco.
Thanks to all for the help!
