Importing categories

Just started working on the trial.. Everything seems to be working.  So far have added some categories and products manually.

No trying to do a bulk upload of the "cat.csv" file I get this error.
Warning: All Raw Database Admin functions are unguided. Deletion of and changes to system data, tables and table columns can result in making this software inoperable. Be careful.

The CSV file you uploaded could not be read. It does not appear to be a properly formatted CSV file that can be used by this import function. Review the CSV File Information section for information on how this file should be formatted and make sure all of the table columns were represented on the first line of the file.

I'm pretty sure I have all the right formats.

Separated by:
Tab
Comma

Text Delimiter:
"
Any ideas to get this working?  Have about 5000 products to upload after this

Re: Importing categories

What os system are you running in?

When importing it needs to be a comma seperated list, and the file imported must contain all of the database column names for the database you want to import.

Re: Importing categories

Well if your using a mac and excel then you will need to save the file as CSV (Windows) , which is the only format that will work.

Re: Importing categories

I am running on a mac and excel works for me as I said saving it in the CSV (Windows) formate. Did you export the the curent entries in the ccp0_cat database and then make your changes in that exported file? I ask just to make sure that you are working on a file with the exact columns names present in your current database.

Re: Importing categories

The CSV (Windows) format is specific to the Mac version of Excel, version Service Release 1 in my case. If you tried all the formats listed above and none work then I would just start at the top of the format list and test all the rest, which is what I did in my case to find the one that worked.
