We are still getting calls from customers that they cannot check out due to empty shopping carts.
I have followed along with them, including having them delete cookies, close their browser, and validating their urls. There are no usr id, etc in the url, which corresponds to my browser.
The problem seems to be getting worse.
On my system, both at home and here, I delete the cookies, closed the browser, rebooted the pc (I know that I did not need to, but I want to be sure), and tried again. I was able to put things into my cart.
I am not sure what is happening, but we are seeing a drop of orders. For example, over the weekend, we usually have 200 - 300 orders. Now, we are only getting 150 - 180. During the week day, it has dropped even more.
The sales clerks are getting an increasing number of phone orders where the customer is indicating that they were getting an empty shopping cart.

I haven't seen your site but I can tell you when I installed this cart on my site, I was ABLE TO REPRODUCE AND FIX this exact same problem.
Are you linking people to a "View Cart" button using the URL:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi
??
I found, ONLY in Opera, that when you click that URL, it doesn't show current cart contents. It shows as empty.
I was able to fix it by linking the view cart button to:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/cp-ap … mp;pg=cart
This forced Opera to refresh the page and display properly. I imagine this may also occur on OLDER IE/Netscape browsers? Perhaps this is your problem?
I do hope this helps!

That doesn't make much sense. The URL:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?pg=cart
Is standard CGI, whereas:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/cp-ap … mp;pg=cart
Is not. Why would the browser not support the standard?

Nick,
You are correct. That is my error.
I was stating however, that if you use:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi
in Opera, it quickly loads a "nothing in cart" page without refreshing the content to get what is really in the cart.
I meant, you need the code you referenced:
http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?pg=cart
This forces Opera to load the right contents of the cart.
