Hi,
Due to the regrettable death of a software developer and the subsequent closure of his business we have recently lost the use of an expensive and vital piece of software used in our business.
Amongst the many services we offer one of them is Vinyl Signs we work within the entertainments industry where window and vehicle signage is an important part of our clients businesses promotions.
For years we have been using a high end and popular software package for Vinyl design and cutting. Like CCP the software phones home to verify the software licence. After failing to contact the verification site over a number of months the software has now reverted to demo mode.
We are unable to cut, plot or export any of our designs. Years of work and many client portfolios are now no longer available. While we can and have purchased an alternative package all of the work will have to be re-started from scratch, thousands of hours work that we cannot charge to our clients.
CCP6 also phones home for verification each time we access the software management suite to process orders or to make changes to stock etc.
My question is a simple one what safeguards are in place to ensure CCP users including myself are not left stranded in this way? Having been badly burnt once I do not want to go near the fire again.
Kind regards
Mike Simpson

CCP will not prevent you from accessing the admin area if it can not reach the Kryptronic central server for some reason. If the central server disappeared your installation of CCP would continue to work for you just fine.
