I am using the "form" option. This does not seem to give the user much feedback about what the problem is when when their credit card is rejected. Does the "secure server" option give them more feedback as to how to correct the problem?
In looking at the authorize net Reports, it appears the the majority of the problems are because the address does not match.
At one point I was experimenting with putting CCP5 in a secure directory. It gave me multiple error messages because the page graphics were triggering password requests. So, what CCP5 directories should be made secure and which not? Is there something I need to do with the directory password so that the security does not cause problems for CCP5 itself?

What I did with version 4 was make a HTML page within the cart that explained various reasons why a transaction might be declined. I then put a link to that page (called cardrejected) on the page that comes up and says "unfortunately ...."
It might be a band-aid but it has worked well.

Thanks for the good idea. This is my first attempt at online credit card stuff so I don't have much idea what causes rejection other than address problems. Would you mind giving me the URl of that page so I can adapt it to my site.
Thanks

Also, I would appreciate a response from the Click Cart Pro staff addressing the other part of my question about whether the secure site alternative provides the customer with more feedback about their specific problems. I can certainly set up secure directories et al, but I don't want to launch down that path if it does not help.

Using a secure server versus their payment form won't help at all. Authorize.net sends back a rejection in the form of a numeric response code. Translating that code into an actual error and presenting it is a small trick, but doable. If you're interested, email ec@kryptronic.com for a quote on the mod.
