Regarding the breadcrumb navigation, the SEO module does change the way that works. The product and category pages will have
Home > Widget Model #345
Instead of the normal:
Home > Widgets > Widget Model #345
I would like to use the SEO module but I find the breadcrumb navigation a real problem. The point of normal breadcrumb navigation is to help user find there way around the site. The new version is just pointless. Is there ANY way I could change it back to the old version?

Hi Rachael,
I have been thinking of creating a cookie-based method of tracking the breadcrumb info so it can be used without cluttering up the URLs. I'm sure I can make it work that way, so if you don't mind being the guinea pig, place an order for the SEO module through my site and I'll set up the breadcrumb tracking at no extra charge.
Thanks,
Mark

Brilliant.
My website won't be live for at least a month, so I don't mind being a guinea pig.
I'll place the order now.
thank you

Hi All,
The SEO module now preserves the breadcrumb navigation functionality without relying on URL parameters. It uses a cookie to track the breadcrumbs from page to page. The SEO-style URLs are not changed at all by this feature addition. Thanks to Rachael for the nudge to get this added.
If you had the SEO module installed on or before June 5, 2004, you don't have this feature. If you feel that it is important for your site, contact ATS and we'll upgrade your SEO module to the latest version (also includes a few non-critical minor changes and bug fixes) for a nominal fee.
Thanks!

Since a cookie is used to track the breadcrumbs, what if the customer enters on a product page instead of the store/category front? Will they still see the breadcrumb navigation? Are there any sites we can view that have the upgrade? The sample sites listed at your site don't appear to have it.
What are the additional changes and bug fixes? What is the "nominal fee"?

Hi Darnell,
Thanks for the good questions. If a visitor enters on a products page (probably from a search engine or other link) the breadcrumbs would show:
Home > Product Name
It works that same as the breadcrumbs do without the SEO mod.
wwwaspectsofbeauty.net has the upgrade.
The other fixes involve handling some rare special characters in the URLs/Product Names, and putting the default meta tags and default page title contents in the settings area for easy editing. Pretty minor stuff.
The fee for installing the SEO upgrade is $18.

Just thought I'd pop in with an update now that Google has crawled and indexed our site - and all I can say is this ! One category page is at #10 for a two word search term that is very competitive (320,000 results) many others ranking higher. For many search terms we're beating two sites which use a very expensive cart with an seo add-on the builds mirror html pages. These sites have dominated this particular niche for over a year now. CCP with the seo mod has smoked them on some major terms.
<brag>Of course it helps if you know a little about seo </brag> - but you need the right tool and this is it!
Of course Google giveth and Google taketh away, but right now I can't overstate how impressed I am with CCP and the SEO MOD. (Yahoo is just now starting to get some of the new pages into the index so I'll be tracking those carefully too.)
PM for examples.

Here's a tip for the folks with the SEO mod, those who have posted because they aren't getting the rankings they hoped for. Something that's been useful for me as I try to learn the ins-and-outs of SEO...
Check out at highrankings.com. The SEO mod puts a powerful gun in your hands, but can't teach you how to shoot it well. The highrankings.com forum is a good place to start learning how to make good use of your shiny new toy.

Had the SEO mod installed on June 14th, ran a SE report same day to find we had 0 of 370 products listed on google.
Ran another report this morning (June 23rd) and we now are #1 on 112 of 370 products and as many in the #2 position.
I'm so pumped about the SEO module. Thanks Mark & Adam. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. If you do not have this module, you need to get it today.
I have listings for products that are ranking higher than the manufactures! And I'm instantly blowing away our competitors. We were paying $2K/mo. to google for pay-per-click advertising that we have now stopped. I can't even imagine the ROI of this module...
Thanks again ATS.

WOW!!!!
With people like you stopping ads on Google, they (Google) might want to try and somehow prevent the module from working properly ;-) . Someone at Google might feel this is bad for their ad business .

Just wanted to put in a good word for ATS. I recently discovered them through the CCP site and was really excited to see the Search Engine Optimization module. I ordered this along with the Printable Invoice upgrade and also the Product Index module.
Mark from ATS did an excellent job! For what I got, the prices were very reasonable. I am very happy with the work that ATS did. My internet store functions better than ever, customers can find products easier with the added Index, the invoices look great, and now I am already seeing product pages coming up in Google search results (with good ranking)! This is great!!! In the past, I had to make extra static HTML pages so that the SE spiders could find them. Now, all the work that I do in making detailed product descriptions in my CCP cart will also be useful for search engine results.
CCP is a great product to begin with, and these upgrades from ATS make it even better!
Another Happy Customer,
Edward

Hi All,
Thanks for the good feedback guys.
Regarding Google losing ad revenue from the SEO module: No worries, Google AdWords will be getting plenty of extra revenue from your competition and those who had the top search results spots before your SEO'd site came along. ;-)

Hi Mike,
Yes, the SEO module has been a great success for our customers.
Are your clients on the Zeus web server? Theoretically it will work with that but the one install I attempted the server admin would not enable the needed features for "security reasons" so I am hesitant to go down that road again. It works readily with Apache which I really prefer.

Hi Mark,
Your product (SEO module for CCP 5.1) looks good and it seems to acheive the required results. I've had a look at the CCP support forum and there was mention of the Zeus web server - does the implementation work on Zeus?
I have a client - and possibly others - who would be interested in your product.
Kind regards,
Mike

Some results:
May 12, 2004 I had ATS put this SEO mod in place. At the time Google had only logged 35 products!
July 5, 2004 they list 335
My site wasn't even optimized before the mod was installed (ie...links from the home page, keywords in text, keywords in the product descriptions etc...) I'm doing these things now and within a couple weeks I've seen a couple of my products make significant jumps in search engine placement.
Infact, I sold 3 units in one week of a product that had never sold before because I had never advertised it on payperclicks. I did a google search for it and it came up #1 by SKU and #3 by the product name!
Thank you ATS - great mod.

Mall24-7:
I see that you are having a problem with the froogle mod, and it may just be a direct result of THIS mod.
I paid mark for the SEO update, and then also for the SEO/Froogle update, and all is fine with the froogle/seo for me.
These are UPDATES to the original SEO and Froogle mods.

Big Dave,
Thanks for the info. I installed FROOGLE first then had ATS do the SEO mod.
What can I do now to get the FROOGLE upgrade working? Also how much
Thanks again.

Allen,
You will have to contact Mark (ATS) to do it.
It will probably cost you $18.00 for the fix.
Good Luck.

EDITED: Mark thinks this is an issue with CCP, not this mod (see next post), I apologize for assuming it was this mod - all the dashes in the SEO URLs led me to jump to a conclusion about the source of the problem.
This mod comes highly recommended, I now have a lot of page ones on google.
However, I noticed that you cannot access any User HTML Pages with a dash in
the Reference Name.
I created one named ste_inventory-pricing and it could not be accessed
via
I had to delete it and create another one named ste_inventory_pricing
which I could access via

Hi Kaz,
That seems to be something with the core CCP because I can't think of any reason the SEO mod would mind the dash, and I tested a page with a dash on a non-SEO test site and it didn't work.
If you have further trouble with it or you think it was working before the SEO mod send me an email so I can trace it down.

Can you confirm what Big Dave is saying please? I installed Froogle mod 1 and then had you install SEO. No problems *except Froogle won't accept my file*
Then, I downloaded and installed the Froogle mod 2 from Nick - but it doesn't work at all.
Now, I've REuploaded the original Froogle mod 1 so I at least have a working mod.
Can you make the Froogle mod 2 work for the 18 bones?
Thanks!
