using metrical system

Can I use Kg instead Pounds and change the inches for centimeters in all the products and shipping scripts?

No.  UPS and USPS both work in inches and pounds.  That's why everywhere in admin where you're asked to enter inches and pounds there's a metric conversion.

Re: using metrical system

We work with the "Argentina Postal Office" that use cms and kgs,
And all the prices are calculated on that measures.
Even the local Fedex and DHL uses the metrical system

So we can't assume that all the units are in cms/kgs?

Re: using metrical system

If that's the case (you're not tying in realtime to UPS/USPS) then yes, you're ok to use metrics.  Are you writing in a realtime tie in to one of those shippers?

Re: using metrical system

No. I'thinking in use a custom script based in this calculations.

-AR to AR
  -local city area
  -rest of the country
-AR to nonAR
  - neighborhood countries
  - rest of americas
  - rest of the world

And for every category I want to calculate the total shipping weight to obtain the shipping price.

But I have no clues in how to start. Some examples could be a great help.
