Activate/deactive Products
It would be nice to be able to "deactivate" a product, as opposed to deleting it. This would be useful for seasonal items that are available periodically.

The products that are seasonal, just select for pricing type as Not For Sale.
This will allow you to display the product, but it won't be available for purchase.

To not display a product, the best thing is to delete the category info for the product and to delete the links to the search page (which will pull products that don't have a category assignment as well).

I'm assuming you mean that all key words should be removed from the search box that appears when you add/edit an item? That's the only search link I could find.

Or you can always apply my MOD from the hacks & mods section : Using products without categories. When you disable the Splash Page for ' x products ', the product will not show at all and you won't have to use the categories to add a product no more.
However, if you're still beginning to add from the categories ' before the products ', the results will remain the same though.
