Let's get the ball rolling...

This forum section was created on September 9, 2002 in response to user requests for a separate area to post hosting recommendations and to allow users to post links to their completed sites.  If you're looking for support, please visit the correct forum section for the software version you're running.

As everyone probably knows, clickcartpro.com is always running the latest version of CCP.

As for a hosting recommendation, we colocate servers at LinuxWebNet (wwwlinuxwebnet.com).  They've got great bandwidth and support and they're relatively inexpensive for both their colo and virtual accounts.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

On the first date of setting up this forum, I posted my experience with server hoster and I promised I will give my feedback on server.

Last time I used hosttec.com to host my site, in the past month, I should say I am satisfied with the service.  They provide very good support for all the problems and the support is alwasy reachable anytime I called them.  The best thing is that they have new server installed which is fast.  So I would recommend this hosting based on my experience
http://www.hosttec.net/

Also you can check my site wwwBookBestBuy.com to see how fast it is, I am running about 130,000 books database on this server.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

I have shopped around and tried many hosting providers.  This is the one I use now, and I don't see me switching real soon.  I just bought another of their Platinum accounts.

wwwfeatureprice.com

Take a look for yourself.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

Hello,

After fighting with Readyhosting.com for more than a year, and excessive downtime I just signed up for wwwwebhost4life.com and have been pleased with the after hours support and capabilities.

Most importnatly, I love the price. $19.95 a month for 300 megs, sql and access 2000 databases plus a ton of drivers. So far, the conversion process has been flawless. At this rate, RailsNW.com will cut over to the new site as early as Tuesday.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

For featureprice.com, I used it before, they have good price but lowsy service.  It takes them about 2 weeks to fix mysql problem.  also I was told by the customer service rep that they don't have a full time administror working on site.  I would not recommend this site even thought they have great offer.  too good to be true.

And I thought Readyhosting was bad...

Sure pleased with webhost4life.com in the few days I have worked with them. Far and away the best Windows 2000 based hosting company I have yet tried.  Tom

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

I've switched from DellHost to Neural Grid and have had good results with them. Quick and knowledgable support with good pricing.

Here's two sites I built using CCP

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

So we're going for hosting opinions now...  Here's my two cents. :-)

We use a company called Las Vegas Web Hosting for all of our sites.  We have been through several companies and Las Vegas Web Hosting has unsurpassed support and the service is awesome.  Their hosting accounts start at $7.95/month - $9.95 if you need a MySQL database.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

Hi everyone,

My design studio offers hosting. You can checkout my rates and info at http://www.monarchdesignstudios.com and click on the hosting button.

I've installed about 6 clickcartpro's, both version 4 and version 5. We've had great success.

Here's a version 4 running on my server:

Here's a version 5 running on my server:

If I can answer any hosting questions, just let me know.

Best Regards,

Nancy

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

Well, I've been using http://neuralgrid.com for a while now, and have nothing but praise to say for them.  They are very affordable, but offer top notch service.  I have full stats for everything to do with my site, and they answer all my questions.  My shop is up and online using them, with MySQL.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

Hello,
The site is looking pretty good. I thought you might like to know you have an html problem in the store. Either your fonts need to be changed or there's a table that isn't closed. The items area overlaps the links area tables. It's probably a table that needs to be closed.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

Is there any particular place that you are seeing this.  I don't see it on my computer.

Thanks

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

I found a couple of TR tags that were orphaned.  If you use the Site HTML straight out of the box, I would suggest that you pull it into your favorite WYSIWYG HTML editor and take a look at the table tags.  The results of these orphan tags didn't show up in Internet Explorer but it did in Netscape 6.2.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

Hello,
When you go to shop from your index page it takes you to the splash page and the item display overlaps the links table next to it. I changed my browser text and also my settings display and it made no difference. This led me to look at your html for a table problem.
Look for the comment tag below for the unclosed table. And close it in you ste_layout file.

Re: Let's get the ball rolling...

I was using IE 6.0 and it showed the problem. I cut and paste the html into Dreamweaver and it showed the unclosed table. It's the same table (items) that's overlapping the links table next to it.
