Navigation problems in Admin interface

I'm having some navigation problems in the admin interface. It will work fine for a while and then suddenly, clicking on various menu items take syou to the wrong place. For example, click on 'Store Catatlog' & then 'Edit or Delete Main Category' and it takes me to the login in screen. Once it gets in this state, many menu selections takes me to the login screen.

Some times logging out and back in will solve the problems & sometimes it won't. With it doesn't help, you might log back in an dthe screen will be on the Edit or Delete Product page rather than at the admin welcome screen.

I solved this problem before by replacing all the admin files in the  data directory. But this is a major pain.

Any idea what causes it and how to fix or avoid?

Re: Navigation problems in Admin interface

This problem is not with the menu system, rather with your IP address.  I'm willing to bet that you're ISP has you accessing a DHCP server to obtain your IP address.  The problem is that the DHCP server is switching your IP address too much and because the administrator uses the IP to make sure you're who you say you are, you're getting slammed back to the login screen when the data doesn't match any more.

For now, wait until your ISP clears up their issues.  In a few weeks, you may want to upgrade to CCP5 which will no longer use IPs to track sessions.  We've found a much better way to do it.
