When I enable AJAX product search and add a found product to the cart, quite often (but now always) the page just jumps to an empty shopping cart.
If I turn AJAX OFF, then there no longer seems to be an issue.
I have also noticed this on other parts of the site, especially around shopping cart/checkout parts.
Some customers are saying that when they add an item to the cart the cart is empty.
I have also managed to reproduce this problem, but in the Settings: Shopping Cart and Wish List, when I disable AJAX in that settings screen, everything seems fine.
Is there a known issue?

I also have noticed that when the shopping cart shows as empty, when in fact it is NOT, pressing "refresh" seems to show the cart items

Ok....
When I add an item to the cart, some of the time, but not always this screen shows.....
HOWEVER....
When I click on Basket/Checkout in the top right corner, the cart is empty and shows this screen
THIS ALSO SEEMS TO BE RANDOM SOMETIMES, but I am getting a fair few complaints (obviously) about this....
Has anyone any ideas as to what on earth is going on, please

Just to add to this, I am running PHP version 8.0
Should I upgrade to 8.4 or even 8.5
I assume no software changes would be needed, just update the version through my webserver...
I am also using the MariaDB database version 11.8.8

This sounds more like a cache issue on your self-hosted install than an issue with the software or browser. Can you check to be sure your webserver is not caching responses?

Thanks for the reply Nick,
I still have the issue and as regards to caching:
Yes, for funkybunky.co.uk, Hostinger’s server-side cache is off, and cacheless/development mode is also off.
So the webserver itself is not currently caching responses at Hostinger level.

I just looked at your site and the Ajax add to cart and shopping cart updates are off currently so I'm not seeing an issue. I suggest you open a support ticket on this and we can work together to figure out what's going on with your server.

I have cleared the cache and also Flushed the CDN cache
Re-enabled Ajax
Everything seems fine again, dont know what caused it, especially as I had customers moaning.
I do update and add new products very, very often and wondered if that has anything to do with anything...
One last thing, should I update the PHP from 8.0 to either 8.4 or 8.5
