googlebase attribute 'googlebase_product_type' question

When completing the ecom_prod data fields for Google Merchant feed, should the 'ecom_prod.googlebase_product_type data' equal the 'ecom_cat.name' or can/should it be similar or different?

Re: googlebase attribute 'googlebase_product_type' question

From the instructions for the field: "This is the product type for this product to be published to the Google Shopping Feed. For valid product types, access the Google Merchant Center and browse to: Help Articles > Understanding Your Data Feeds > The Product Type Attribute. If this field is blank, no product type will be published to the Google Shopping Feed for this product."

Basically it is freeform and you can use your own category name, or use a Google category name.

I've wondered that as well.  Thanks for posting this.
